07/01/2025The Executive Director for Learning Services (School Leadership) assists the Assistant Superintendent for Learning Services with dynamic educational leadership in the Learning Services Department; provides leadership guidance and support for K12 school principals; ensures standardsbased instruction and assessment; and supervises assigned Principals Learning Services Directors and other Learning Services staff.The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and other key duties that may be required. Reports consistently for work as scheduled
Performs other duties as assigned
Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
Collaborates with all Learning Services to support the unique learning needs of all students
Collaborates with Principals and other District staff in planning and developing programs
Collects analyzes and reports essential data and documents for compliance with state and federal requirements
Communicates regularly with building administrators regarding educational programming and staffing
Coordinates and assists with Title IX complaints at assigned school levels
Creates and nurtures partnerships with parents to support the unique needs of students
Develops proposals monitors and reports funding matters regarding state and federal grant resources as the grant manager
Develops maintains and assists with applicable staffing and develops consistent practices in allocation of resources to support schools and District programs
Ensures District schools are accountable to stakeholders
Ensures ongoing compliance with all laws rules regulations and Board of Education policies
Ensures principals are in compliance with the Districts accreditation plan
Facilitates and/or attends level principal meetings as assigned
Fosters cooperation and communication with community agencies and community members
Monitors evaluates and improves assigned Learning Services programs through data analysis and program evaluation
Oversees assigned data collection processes for compliance and other reporting to local state and federal agencies and ensures accuracy and timeliness of submissions
Provides leadership and support for nontraditional schools/programs in the District
Provides leadership and vision in the identification of researchbased best practices for professional learning programming and ongoing program evaluation to support all learners
Provides professional learning and ongoing compliance training for K12 principals
Provides supervision and evaluation for licensed and classified staff as assigned
Supervises and supports the work of assigned administrative staff and assists with committees program evaluation standards and assessment implementation professional learning activities and projects
Supervises and supports the work of assigned directors and assist with curriculum committees program evaluation standards & assessment implementation professional learning activities and projects
Supervises assigned principals
Utilizes student achievement and growth data to drive instructional programming for all students
Visits classrooms regularly with principals and provides coaching to principals on how to give effective feedback to improve student learning
Works closely with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent for Learning Services to ensure the ASD20 mission is achieved
To be shared or assigned between three executive directors:
Ensures student contact hours meet legal requirements of the state throughout the school year
Leads and supports monthly K12 assistant principal meetings
Monitors student instructional minutes
Oversee the planning and organization of all ASD20 high school graduations
Plans and cofacilitates level dean and assistant principal meetings
Presents the Character (E1.2 Annual Report to the Board of Education
Reports the annual tracking graduate presentation to the board of education
Supervises and oversees the District Athletic and Activities program
Supervises the District Foreign Exchange Student Program
Serves as District administrator for the Temporary Homebound Support
Serves as the 504 administrator for the District
