Position Overview
The Department of Political Science at the University of North Texas at Dallas invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer position specializing in American and Texas Politics. This is a fulltime nontenuretrack position for the 2025/2026 Fall/Spring semester (with potential for extension). Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Political Science or a closely related field (ABD/Masters candidates with relevant experience may be considered).
35 years of teaching experience at the community college or university level with a proven track record of engaging and inspiring students from all backgrounds.
Expertise in American Politics with a commitment to promoting a curiositydriven approach to teaching.
Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to create connections and build relationships within and outside the classroom.
Proven ability to empower students and promote highimpact teaching practices that support learning and growth.
A commitment to fostering an environment of respect and belonging for all students.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate courses in American Politics encouraging active learning and critical thinking.
Develop and deliver dynamic inclusive and engaging course content that resonates with our student body.
Foster a supportive and collaborative classroom environment where all students feel valued and empowered to succeed.
Collaborate with faculty to continuously enhance the departments offerings and ensure the curriculum reflects various perspectives.
Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the growth and development of the academic community at UNT Dallas.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with online or hybrid teaching formats.
Evidence of scholarly activity in American Politics.
Experience working with firstgeneration and nontraditional students championing a peoplefirst approach.
