Scheduling and Materials Manager Summary The Scheduling and Materials Manager leads a team in effectively delivering operational from material sourcing through efficient production planning. The individual is responsible for maintaining optimal inventory and supply levels based on the needs of the business while also developing bestinclass processes and talent. The Scheduling and Materials Manager utilizes strong negotiation and relationship building skills with suppliers to obtain quality goods and services on time at the lowest price. Responsibilities - Leads and supports the team responsible for preparing and processing orders and requisitions for materials supplies and equipment and scheduling sitewide manufacturing assets.
Scheduling - Leads and owns the scheduling of manufacturing assets at the facility to deliver AOP objectives.
- Collaborates with Operations team to optimize asset utilization including maximizing uptime providing advanced planning for flexibility and level setting safety stock against commercial expectations.
- Communicates delivery promises investigates production delays and difficulties troubleshoots alternative materials or methods of manufacturing to maintain 98.5 ontime performance.
- Collaborates across functions to continually identify and improve processes that optimize efficiency throughput and value for the organization.
- Manages and reports on OTIF performance and drives corrective action for issues.
- Leads annual/biannual crossfunctional assessments of appropriate stocking levels safety stock categorization and aged/aging inventory disposition adapting to the evolving needs of the business.
Materials Management - Oversees and maintains inventory levels for raw material WIP and finished goods.
- Aligns material requirements with commercial and manufacturing to ensure supply availability.
- Supports the VP of Supply Chain with corporate initiatives in pricing and contract negotiations with suppliers as requested.
- Supports implementation of cost savings sourcing and supply chain initiatives at Business Unit level.
- Acts as ERP/MRP Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Scheduling and Purchasing team. Identifies system gaps and improvements and drives corrective action.
- Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers.
- Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market delivery systems and other variables.
- Resolves grievances with vendors contractors and suppliers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Required Skills Education and Experience - Bachelors Degree in related field
- Minimum of 35 years related experience
- Ability to organize and prioritize complex sets of information and competing priorities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to manage people including talent development performance management and conflict resolution
- Experience interacting and working in a diverse job shop manufacturing setting
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills and attention to detail
- Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
