Job Description

Job Title: Sales Assistant Trade Counter

Location: Glasgow
Salary:per annum (Negotiable)
Hours: Fulltime Monday to Friday with potential for some weekend work depending on business needs

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Assistant to join a busy and dynamic Trade Counter team in Glasgow. If you have a passion for customer service a proactive attitude and experience in a trade or DIYrelated environment this role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a supportive and growing business.

The Business:
This position is based at a trade counter where your role will involve engaging with customers recommending suitable products and supporting the team to achieve sales targets. Experience in a similar environment or a strong knowledge of DIY products will be a significant advantage.

Key Duties:

  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional service by assisting customers with inquiries understanding their requirements and recommending the right products for their needs.
  • Sales Support: Upsell products and services to maximize sales while ensuring customers receive a positive and helpful experience.
  • Transaction Management: Use basic math skills to process transactions accurately and manage inventory effectively.
  • Phone Etiquette: Handle customer calls professionally addressing their concerns and inquiries promptly.
  • Merchandising: Maintain an organized wellstocked and visually appealing trade counter area.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to achieve sales targets and ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Time Management: Balance multiple tasks efficiently in a fastpaced environment while providing excellent customer service.

What Were Looking For:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills in English.
  • Basic math proficiency for transactions and inventory management.
  • Previous experience in a trade counter hardware store or DIY environment is highly desirable.
  • Confidence in upselling products while maintaining a customerfirst approach.
  • A friendly approachable demeanor with a passion for helping others.
