Job Description
Human resources (HR) professionalsmanage a companys employee experience from the time they apply to the job until they leave.They perform a variety of tasks including:
- Recruitment:Writing job descriptions posting job ads sourcing candidates screening applicants interviewing and selecting candidates
- Onboarding:Ensuring new employees are properly inducted into the company
- Training:Planning and delivering training programs for new and existing employees
- Compensation:Managing payroll ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time and advising on pay and benefits
- Employee retention:Implementing strategies to keep employees motivated and engaged such as promotions bonuses and company events
- Employee support:Providing support resources for employee health and wellness such as daycare programs parental leave and extra vacation days
- Policies and procedures:Developing and implementing policies on issues like working conditions performance management and equal opportunities
- Compliance:Ensuring the company complies with labor laws and employment standards
- Employee relations:Handling staffing issues such as mediating disputes and directing disciplinary procedures
- Employee information:Keeping track of employee information
- Exit interviews:Conducting and analyzing exit interviews
