Job Description

TheNorthern Land Council (NLC) is offering an exciting opportunity for an Indigenous trainee to join our Regional Development team in Katherine. This traineeship is ideal for a motivated individual looking to gain practical work experience while completing a nationally recognised qualification.

Earn while you learnour supportive team will provide coaching and mentoring to help you develop valuable skills in administration while contributing to our important work with Aboriginal communities in the NLC region.

About the Role

As an Administration Trainee you will receive training and handson experience in providing administrative support to our regional office. You will act as a first point of contact and assist with daytoday office tasks ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. This is a paid opportunity to gain professional experience while working towards a Certificate qualification.

What You Will Bring:

We are looking for a motivated and reliable individual with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. You should have good organisational skills be comfortable using technology and enjoy working as part of a team.

In addition to this you will have:

  • Completion of year 10 high school or previous work experience.
  • Good attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to work with a range of computer software products in particular Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Willingness to learn and develop administrative skills.
  • The ability to organise and prioritize tasks as required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (desirable).
  • C Class drivers licence (or willingness to obtain) is an advantage.

We offer:

  • Competitive Salary (Base Salary of $52759 per annum) plus 14.5 superannuation and salary sacrificing up to $15900 Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefits up to $2650 per year.
  • Other benefits under our Enterprise Agreement include:
    • District allowance of up to $9750 per annum for individuals with dependents and $6036 without dependents.
    • 5 weeks annual leave leaving loading 18 days personal leave;
    • Paid Christmas close down;
    • Upon completion of 12 months of service anAnnual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $2961
