1st2nd Line IT Technician Carlisle Cumbria
MacArthur Recruitment is working on behalf of a successful IT Telecoms and Services company who due to internal promotions and extra work from their clients are looking for a 1st2nd Line IT Technician to join their Support team.
Within this position you will be working within a team supporting clients both remotely and face to face playing an integral part in the organisation by providing technical support for hardware and software.
A lot of their business has grown naturally through recommendation and as a result of expansion within a satisfied customer. Ideally they are looking for someone with good broad and deep knowledge who enjoys working with and helping customers; along with having a passion for technology. Most of your role is carried out from the offices in Carlisle however some customer site visits are required a pool van is provided for these.
Career development and further technology training are also on offer. The skills listed below are the ideal case however there is some flexibility and some further training can be provided.
For the role of 1st 2nd Line IT Technician your skills and experience need to cover some or all of these although training can be provided :
- To provide prompt 1st and 2nd line support onsite or remotely to ensure operational problems are resolved in a timely manner
- Proactive monitoring of IT Systems
- Preparing and building customer equipment as required
- Installation & Configuration of hardware software and IT Infrastructure
- Diagnosing system errors and other issues
- Help desk and incident management
- Ensure IT support processes are followed and documented
- Troubleshoot appropriate problem solving and ensuring IT issues are being dealt with effectively and to the customers satisfaction.
- Providing excellent customer service at all times
Ideal Technical experience for the role of 1st 2nd Line IT Technician some or all of :
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Exchange
- Office 365
- Microsoft Teams
- VMware
- Firewalls
- ESET AntiVirus
- Networking
- Windows Server
- Windows 710
- Experience in an IT Support role
Responsibilities and other skills ideally required for the role of 1st 2nd Line IT Technician :
- It is vital that the candidate has a good clear and concise telephone manner
- Reliable and able to work both with and without guidance
- Able to manage and work within demanding environments
- Able to explain issues and resolutions to customers with varying technical skills
- Flexible and willing to learn new skills
- Ability to work within a team ensuring knowledge is shared
- An inquisitive and analytical mind who is service driven
- Drivers license.
