Job Title: Configuration Management Specialist
Location: Columbia MD
Type of Hire: Longterm contract
Hours: Full Time MondayFriday 40 hours per week
Pay: $47.000 $49.000/hour depending on experience
Start: 6/1/2025
Must be a US Citizen MD resident and must possess the ability to pass a background check
Position Description: The Configuration Management Specialist/Change Management Expert shall identify and documents Change Management including configuration identification baseline management configuration control configuration verification and configuration status accounting. This position shall develop and manage the of the Configuration Management Plan.
Education: This position requires a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Engineering Computer Science Information Systems Business or other related discipline; or three 3 years of equivalent experience in a related field.
General Experience: The proposed candidate must have at least four 4 years of experience in organizational change management.
Specialized Experience: The proposed candidate must have at least four 2 years of experience in drafting detailed configuration management strategy plan and associated.

Required Experience:
- Proficient in Coding/Scripting skills like PowerShell Groovy etc.
- Automation skills such as code builds and deployments
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines secure code using tools such as Jenkins Gitlab Docker/Containers and other relevant tools required for automation.
- Develop build and deployment process using GitLab CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with automating database changes
- Tools experience:
- Jenkins
- Git/GitLab
- Docker/Containerization skills
- Jira Cloud
- Confluence
- Knowledge of and familiarity with configuration management software applications
- Version management skills (involves managing and tracking changes to software code throughout its life cycle administer and maintain version control software)
- Effective communication skills (collaborate with teams sharing ideas knowledge and responsibilities)
Additional Experience:
- Experience of using Agile approaches SCRUM User Stories Release Planning Retrospectives
- Experience of working on large scale agile projects and working in an environment which is running multiple concurrent Scrums.
- Jira Confluence
- Develop and update processes and perform tasks required for the installation and upgrading of enterprise software packages.
- Performed integration projects required for system automation and testing and integrate and configure tools for defect and requirements tracking.
- Develop scripts and processes for project specific tasks and assist development teams with project specific support issues.
- Automate build and deployment process through build system
- Design and configure continuous integration build system through collaboration with development and IT teams
- Participate in deployment & configuration of the application as needed
- Assist the Software Operations Team with deployment responsibilities
- Generate and maintain configuration management records for releases and software builds
- Baseline management configuration control configuration verification and configuration status accounting.
- Develop and manage the of the Configuration Management Plan
