The Parts to Service Consultant acts as a key liaison between the Parts and Service Departments ensuring seamless communication and workflow between technicians service advisors and parts personnel. This role focuses on sourcing and delivering parts efficiently maintaining accurate inventory levels and enhancing customer satisfaction by supporting the timely completion of service repairs.
Work directly with Service Advisors and Technicians to identify and source necessary parts for scheduled repairs and maintenance.
Ensure all repair orders have the correct parts assigned and available before work begins.
Expedite special orders and backordered parts keeping Service personnel informed of ETAs and alternatives.
Verify warranty and policy parts ensuring correct documentation and returns.
Maintain an organized and wellstocked service parts inventory.
Monitor stock levels of highturnover items to prevent service delays.
Assist with ordering and receiving parts checking for accuracy and quality.
Process returns for unused or incorrect parts in a timely manner.
Work closely with Service Advisors to provide accurate pricing and availability for repair estimates.
Keep technicians informed of part status updates to minimize downtime.
Educate customers on available performance and customization options when applicable.
Ensure a professional and customerfocused experience for all internal and external interactions.
Maintain accurate documentation for all parts transactions related to service repairs.
Utilize dealership management software (DMS) to track parts requests and movement.
Participate in regular meetings with Parts and Service teams to improve efficiency and address concerns.
Follow dealership and manufacturer policies regarding parts handling storage and disposal.
Experience in motorcycle or automotive parts operations preferred.
Strong understanding of HarleyDavidson parts accessories and service operations.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with technicians service advisors and customers.
Proficiency in dealership management software (Lightspeed CDK or similar).
Ability to lift and move motorcycle parts safely (up to 50 lbs).
Passion for motorcycles and the HarleyDavidson brand is a plus.
