Job Description

As a Staffing Consultant at MGIS you will lead HR and staffing initiatives playing a pivotal role in planning preparing executing and managing staffing actions across diverse occupational groups. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring efficient and meticulous of staffing processes while also minimizing delays and potential disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing Staffing Strategies:Create comprehensive staffing and resourcing strategies.
  • Demographic Analysis:Provide managers with demographic insights and assist in developing strategies to meet human resourcing needs.
  • Merit Criteria Guidance:Offer advice and guidance on various types of merit criteria and qualifications.
  • Workforce Analysis:Provide insights into workforce and process pros and cons.
  • Assessment Instrument Expertise:Advise on the effectiveness of assessment instruments and assist in their development or selection.
  • Criteria Application:Assist managers with the appropriate sequencing and application of merit criteria.
  • Decision Review:Provide advice guidance and assistance in reviewing decisions and assessing the impact of change.
  • Strategy Development:Develop or assist in developing staffing or resourcing strategies and plans.
  • Needs Analysis:Review organizational and business needs to identify appropriate staffing strategies aligning with other plans such as Employment Equity and Diversity and Official Languages.
  • Challenges Resolution:Offer advice and recommendations for addressing staffing and recruitment challenges in line with organizational strategies and plans.
  • Recruitment Strategies:Develop and implement recruitment and employment strategies.
  • Recruitment Processes:Prepare and conduct recruitment and staffing processes including drafting merit criteria assessment guides candidate screening and assessments test coordination interviews reference checks and reporting.
  • Documentation:Draft staffing reports gather data conduct interviews and prepare documentation.
  • Policy Guidance:Advise managers on staffing policies and procedures in compliance with the IRBs staffing framework.
  • Collaboration:Collaborate with IRBs HR team to ensure alignment of advice and guidance provided to the project authority.

Requirements

  • Experience:10 years of relevant experience.
  • Government of Canada Selection Processes:Profound understanding of Government of Canada selection processes.
  • Document Writing:Proficiency in writing statement of merit rating guides assessment tools screening applications marking tests and conducting interview boards.
  • HR Expertise:Experience in writing HR processes and strategies.
  • Education:University Diploma.
  • Professional Designations:Related HR professional designation(s).
  • Language Skills:Bilingual proficiency.
