The Opportunity
Visions of Sciences STEM Leaders: Launch and Connect programs serve as vital pathways for youth to build skills and gain experiences that will set them up for success in STEM careers. These programs provide yearround experiential learning job placement peer networks and advocacy opportunities with a focus on career readiness and breaking down financial barriers to postsecondary education. We are seeking dynamic passionate facilitators to support youth in these transformative experiences providing guidance coaching and leadership opportunities.
As a Program Facilitator you will work closely with youth participants program staff and community partners to ensure highquality program delivery mentor youth and engage in outreach efforts to maximize participation.
Position Overview
The STEM Leaders: Launch Program Facilitator will be responsible for facilitating learning experiences and providing coaching and mentorship to youth in the STEM Leaders: Launch (Grades 1112. These programs offer youth workintegrated learning paid summer internships workshops trips and jobshadowing opportunities.. Facilitators will lead workshops internship placement activities workshops supervise participants on external trips and support participants in showcasing their achievements at a summer youth showcase.
Position Details
- Contract Type/Term: Seasonal Hourly FullTime Contract.
- Note: During May and June work hours may vary and be less than 35 hours per week to accommodate training and program preparation. Fulltime hours 3540 hours per week) will begin in July and continue through August for the duration of the youth program.

- Up to 35 hours/week Monday to Friday
- Please note: A mandatory summer showcase will take place on Saturday August 16 or 23 2025.
- Job Location(s): Inperson central programming location around Regent Park.

- Salary: $23.15 CAD/hr

Major Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Program Delivery & Facilitation
- Lead interactive handson STEM career readiness and leadership workshops and training sessions for youth in STEM Leaders: Launch (Grades 1112 ensuring youth are engaged and learning through realworld STEM applications.
- Support youth in succeeding in paid summer internship placements by offering coaching resumebuilding workshops and interview preparation.
- Provide continuous mentorship and career guidance helping youth navigate their professional and academic pathways.
- Facilitate opportunities for youth to engage in advocacy work empowering them to use their voices for change within their communities.
- Support youth in showcasing their learning and career experiences to peers and community members at the end of summer youth showcase. .
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Cultivate strong relationships with youth participants families schools community organizations and postsecondary institutions.
- Foster leadership teamwork and selfadvocacy skills among youth encouraging them to take ownership of their learning and career development.
- Support outreach and recruitment efforts to ensure diverse participation in the STEM Leaders: Launch program..
Program Coordination & Administration
- Assist with coordinating youths attendance to internships and workshops track program expenses and ensure the smooth operation of logistics and program activities.
- Collect and analyze feedback from participants to assess program impact and improve future iterations of the program.
- Provide program updates and assist with reporting to stakeholders.
- Represent Visions of Science at community events and public events promoting the visibility and impact of the programs.
What Were Looking For
Education & Training:
- Candidates pursuing or holding a degree in STEM education social work youth development or a related field are preferred.the success of each participant.
Experience & Expertise
- At least one 1 year of facilitation experience with Visions of Science or two 2 years of experience in communitybased youth programming.
- Experience in facilitating workshops and providing mentorship or job coaching to youth.
- Understanding of STEM postsecondary career and scholarship application processes and resources for youth pursuing postsecondary education or careers.
- Experience working in marginalized communities and a commitment to supporting youth facing systemic barriers.
- Experience working with historically marginalized communities with a demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion.
- Proficiency in digital productivity and collaboration tools (e.g. Microsoft Office Google Suite Asana).

- CommunityFocus: Understanding of the barriers faced by marginalized communities and experience creating inclusive culturally responsive programming.
- Program & Time Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with youth families and community stakeholders.
- Adaptability & ProblemSolving Thrives in fastpaced environments responding flexibly to challenges while ensuring highquality program delivery.
Additional Asset(s)
- Lived experience from lowincome and/or racialized communities.
- A G license and access to a vehicle.
- Experience in the nonprofit sector and knowledge of the challenges faced by youth in underserved communities.
