Description

Position Title: Lutheran Center Program Coordinator for Congregational Thriving
Department: The Lutheran Center for Faith Values and Community.
Classification: NonExempt.
FTE: 1.0.
Work Schedule: The standard 40hour work schedule is Monday Friday 8:00 am 5:00 pm with occasional evening and weekend hours; flexible work arrangements can be proposed and are subject to approval by HR and relevant supervisors. Travel up to 5% of the work schedule which includes local (Twin Cities metro area) and national travel.
Term:August 15 2025 through August 14 2026 (specific dates are negotiable). This is a oneyear position with possibility of an extension depending upon additional grant funding.
Hourly Rate: $20 $23.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Coordinate the Student Fellows program
    • Support the hiring onboarding and continuous workrelated learning needs of Student Fellows.
    • Meet regularly with Student Fellows to support and guide them and track progress.
    • Facilitate the Student Fellows projects helping to make introductions connections and facilitating their access to resources needed to be successful.
    • Seek opportunities to integrate Fellows into wider campus experiences.
    • Support event planning that involves Student Fellows work.
    • Liaise with Fellows Coaches.
    • Keep other staff informed of Student Fellows progress and promptly ask for guidance if issues arise.
  • Support the Conference on Worship Theology and the Arts.
    • Support the conference registration and housing processes.
    • Develop forms and documents using Google software including writing communication pieces as directed.
    • Manipulate Google Sheets spreadsheets to understand participation trends and needs.
    • Create the program signage and other communications using Canva software.
    • Support event logistics including transportation tours meals signage entertainment and participant materials.
    • Coordinate conference volunteers.
    • Manage the conference social media presence.
    • Liaise with external constituents.
    • Commit to attending and supporting the conference (Date TBD).
  • Support Vocational programming in the Lutheran Center and the Nourishing Vocation Projects
    • Seek opportunities for student engagement.
    • Update web pages and manage the social media presence of the Nourishing Vocation Projects.
    • Support events through form development communication participation tracking and marketing.
    • Create promotional materials using Canva software.
    • Organize virtual and oncampus meetings with internal and external participants providing meeting materials sending reminders and follow up messages as needed.
    • Work with room scheduling and catering per college policies.
    • Review and contribute to project newsletters articles and reports.
    • Use project software including Google Docs Sheets and Forms as well as Trello project management tools.
  • Support respect and commit to embracing diverse backgrounds values and points of view to build a strong and inclusive community.
  • Complete and meet deadlines for required training and performance management cycle.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervision Received and Exercised:

  • Reports to the Lutheran Center Director of Programming Engagement and Innovation for Congregational Thriving.
  • This position supervises student workers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience; Maintain a valid drivers license and meet St. Olaf College driver authorization criteria with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Experience: Experience in an office setting; familiarity with Christian congregations; demonstrated interreligious competence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in relevant field.
  • Experience: 1 years of relevant office experience.

Prerequisites:

  • Employment in this position is conditioned upon successful completion of a background check which may include: criminal background checks reference checks verification of work history verification of any required academic credentials licenses and/or certifications a motor vehicle check verification of DOT certification a credit check employment eligibility verification and/or a preemployment physical. Whether a background check is deemed successfully completed will be at the sole discretion of St. Olaf College. Please note St. Olaf College reserves the right to conduct periodic background checks at its sole discretion.
