The Role
Driver Class C operates a light duty truck which is less than three tons rated capacity and usually has two axels to transport light loads for relatively short distances.
This position will report to the: Operations Manager
Location: Ventura CA
Travel Requirement: 80 100
FLSA Status: Non exempt
What Youll be Responsible For in this Role
In this role youll be responsible for the following:
- Drives truck to destination.
- Maintains physical security of cargo to prevent shifting and damage.
- Prepares receipts for material delivered.
- Collects payments for goods delivered and for delivery charges when required.
- Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations.
- Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires lights brakes gas oil and water.
- Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
- Loads and unloads truck.
- Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires installing light bulbs tire chains and spark plugs.
- Unloads product at customers facilities.
- Inspects product and checks accuracy of both product and quantities delivered.
- Picks up product at customers and suppliers checks product and quantities for accuracy.
- Processes clear and accurate paperwork.
- Operates auxiliary equipment mounted on truck such as hydraulics hoist etc.
- Performs other duties and/ or responsibilities as assigned.
What Were Looking For
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of 2years local city delivery experience
- Class C license
- Acceptable DMV report
- Must be forklift certified within sixty days from hire
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add subtracts multiply and divides in all units of measure using whole numbers commonfractions and decimals
