Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech. Vishay Barry is currently seeking applicants for a Planning Supervisor. The Planning Supervisor will report directly to the Senior Operations Manager and is responsible for coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials according to daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer requirements while minimizing manufacturing costs. The Planning Supervisor is responsible for managing and addressing issues preventing the of ERP and production plans to ensure ontime delivery.

Job Location:

Vishay Barry is located in Attleboro MA that is conveniently located near the main highways as well as some highly recommended restaurants. There are 70 employees across two shifts working at our 40000 sq. ft. facility of manufacturing space. This would be an onsite position.

What you will be doing:

  • Supervise the activities of the Planning/Supply Chain team to include but not be limited to: Production planning Procurement Shipping & Receiving Kitting & Inventory control.
  • Create and maintain schedules to successfully meet shipping dates according to forecasts and orders while maximizing efficiencies in coordination with the production team.
  • Utilize released and created work orders to ensure compliance with the planned demand to support sales and inventory levels while utilizing available capacity.
  • Create and/or recommend revisions to production schedules as needed.
  • Prepare scheduling reports as required. Communicate with internal customers as to the status of open orders/jobs and exceptions impacting ontime delivery.
  • Maximize monthly shipments utilizing ERP controls production and management via collaborative meetings discussions daily planning adjustments and recommended planning procedures.
  • Provide leadership visibility over potential issues that may impact production scheduling.
  • Align support of various functions to aid in managing exceptions to ERP and customer requirements via interfacing with sales engineering manufacturing quality etc.
  • Aide in addressing issues preventing of the MPS and production plan. Issues include but are not limited to nonconforming materials or processes material or equipment availability.
  • Surface issues to management when capacity plans are challenged to meet shipment goals.
  • Utilize the ERP to optimize workflow schedule planning and procurement.
  • Manage workflow progress including working with production and other supporting departments to ensure production plans are met.
  • Manage intervendor material transfers and material flows.
  • Establish and maintain WIP and inventory targets. Includes developing action plans to minimize inventory exposure from sping excess and/or obsolete parts. Regulate all applicable inventory.
  • Expedite purchase orders as required.

What you will bring along:

  • Bachelors Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain Operations Management Business or related field. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing planning and/or scheduling experience required including using an ERP/MRP system in a Planner/Buyer capacity.
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft office and time management software.
  • Experience with ERP database management and data extraction preferred.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Excel including macros and ODBC integration preferred.
  • Working knowledge of electronics and/or metals industry products and materials preferred.
  • APICS CPIM certification highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills able to collaborate within the team and present information.
  • Effective problemsolving skills that will prevent problems before they occur and minimize impact to production.
  • Selfmotivation drive and takes initiative to achieve target assignments.
  • Detail oriented individual with ability to make and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational time management and training skills.
