As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banks Equities Tech Group you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple technical teams as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities. You will work in a collaborative trusting and thoughtprovoking environmentone that values diversity of thought and creative solutions that serve the best interests of our global customers.
Job responsibilities
- Execute standard software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting
- Write secure and highquality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance
- Design develop code and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation
- Apply technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity
- Gather analyze and draw conclusions from large diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decisionmaking in service of secure stable application development
- Learn and apply system processes methodologies and skills for the development of secure stable code and systems
- Provide overall direction oversight and coaching for a team of entrylevel to midlevel software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
- Be accountable for decisions that influence teams resources budget tactical operations and the and implementation of processes and procedures
- Provide input to leadership regarding budget approach and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team
- Create a culture of diversity equity inclusion and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5 years applied experience . In addition 2 years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- A minimum of 10 years of handson programming/application development experience with the Python ecosystem and associated tools
- Handson practical experience in system design application development testing and operational stability
- Experience in developing debugging and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Demonstrable ability to code in one or more languages
- Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle
- Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- A Bachelors or Masters degree preferably in Computer Science
