Job Description

515 N 51st Ave Phoenix Arizona

Pay Rate: $17.00 per Hour

Position Description:

Processes required amount of donated merchandise in preparation for sale to salvage vendors for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities. Responsible for conducting quality inspections of bins performing detailed audits and providing training to Team Members to maintain and ensure compliance with established standards. Must have strong adherence to all safety policies and wearing all required personal protective equipment at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Exceeds minimum daily quota set for assigned department of 1000 pounds or more (table or conveyor sorting) when assigned to sort.
  • Inspects donated merchandise as required analyzing quality condition and determining proper category.
  • Conducts daily inspections on graded product providing detailed audit reports. Provides the feedback to Supervisor to identify training opportunities.
  • Knowledgeable on all sorting positions and categories on the conveyor.
  • Trains and mentors trainees and skilled graders on sorting processes and quality. Provides peer support for task completion.
  • Responsible for recording ending weights at the end of the day and starting weights in preparation for the next day and turns all paperwork into Supervisor.
  • Receives and processes clothing pulls from the retail stores inspecting quality type of material size and/or style of clothing determining which category it will go into.
  • Able to identify and discard any contaminants unsaleable product. Nonqualifying items go into a separate Gaylord and are rerouted to the clearance store.
  • Maintains workstation in an organized and safe manner free from food drink or other personal items. Ensures all stations and conveyors are fully stocked set up and ready for the next day.
  • Safeguards company property including donated goods. Reports any incidents of theft misappropriation or unauthorized possession of company property.
  • Is crosstrained to work in Salvage and all positions in Grading.
  • Maintains a clean work environment including grading equipment restrooms warehouse floors production stations and parking lots as directed.
  • Responsible for following and ensuring all safety rules are complied with and appropriate safety equipment/PPE is used. Immediately takes action and/or reports any unsafe or potential hazards.
  • Maintains regular and consistent inperson attendance.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education Experience Skills):

  • High School Diploma GED or equivalent experience.
  • 6 months to 1 year of cloth grading experience.
  • Ability to be trained and take direction.
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to use a calculator to add and subtract numbers.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen where applicable for position.
