Job Description

Job Title: Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner
Location: Dothan Alabama
Salary:per year
Shift: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (No on call no weekends)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner to join our inpatient team. This position focuses on providing specialized palliative care to patients in a hospital setting ensuring their comfort and enhancing their quality of life. This role offers a Monday to Friday schedule with no calls and no weekends making it ideal for those seeking a balanced worklife schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide palliative care to inpatients focusing on symptom management and improving quality of life for patients with serious or lifelimiting illnesses.
  • Conduct thorough assessments develop care plans and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address physical emotional and spiritual needs of patients.
  • Offer support to families providing education and guidance on endoflife care and decisionmaking.
  • Document patient progress assessments and treatment plans in accordance with hospital protocols and regulations.
  • Work closely with attending physicians nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualifications:

  • Nurse Practitioner with a masters degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • Palliative Care NP experience is required.
  • ACHPN certification or willingness to obtain within a specified time frame is preferred.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in Alabama.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
  • Compassionate empathetic and able to handle sensitive patient and family interactions.
