Job Description

TITLE: Strategic Planning & Advocacy Specialist
GRADE: NOC
DURATION1 : Two 2 Years Renewable Contract
DUTY STATION: Gurgaon India

Purpose of the role:

Reporting to the DirectorGeneral of ISA the Strategic Planning & Advocacy Specialist will work in the DG office on supporting implementation of ISA strategy key business initiatives strategic communication and review of key documentation with external stakeholders. The role will include developing and recommending viable recommendations/plans that help ISA achieve their goals and elevating its position on a global stage. The role will also be responsible for creating strategies that facilitate business processes within the ISA. The role will also perform various duties including strategic advocacy research project management and program creation and followups.

LANGUAGE AND IT SKILLS:

The role demands substantial writing and verbal communications skills. As English is the official and working language of the Organization excellent command of both written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of other languages (i.e. French Spanish and Arabic) would be an advantage. Good skills in Outlook MS Office products and various ERP systems is highly desirable.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON TASKS/ROLE DELIVERABLES
Negotiate with the ISA partners on their business needs technical integration exercises
Manage internal liaison with the business/technical units and enable regular followups
Advise on Investment ROI risk management costbenefit and communication strategies.
Negotiate deals with key consulting firms and vendors resulting in the streamlining of the existing relationships internationally.
In collaboration with the Communications Team oversee and guide multiplatform/crossgeography partnership planning and indicator tools (e.g. scorecards and KPIs).
Ability to multitask and manage quality while adhering to the timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Advanced university degree (Master s degree or equivalent or higher) in Business Management Marketing Administration Economics Political Science international relations or social sciences or any related field. Any other educational qualification combined with relevant work experience within the SIDs/LDCs.
A firstlevel university degree in combination with 4 additional years of qualifying relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

EXPERIENCE
Required
A minimum of 18 years of relevant professional work experience in Public Policy Corporate Planning and Strategy supporting senior leadership(s) within organisations.
Experience within Multilateral Organisations/International Relations/ Governments/ donor partnerships/public relations/ media is a must.
Proven experience in providing support and insight into significant organizational changes.
A strong experience in maintaining and fostering relationships with international agencies/government focal points/NGO/CSO groups/foreign embassies/Foundations and officials
Experience on managing strategic communications including key advocacy events
A strong experience in collaborative teamwork working with diverse set of teams
A proven ability to develop strategic plans and assess the overall organisational performance (operational and strategic)
A proven ability to assess develop and scope new initiatives and projects proposals statements of programs communication narratives and other activities related to progressing global partnerships.
A strong experience in maintaining and fostering relationships with international agencies/government focal points/NGO/CSO groups/foreign embassies/Foundations and officials
Lead and conduct organisational research and data analysis to inform the DG on business decisions
Writing skills on managing communication with highest level of Government and external stakeholders
Experience with aligning processes resourcesplanning and organisational goals with the overall strategy
A basic understanding of solar energy transition

Technology and Solar Specialist Education A PhD in Renewable or Electrical Engineering or Master s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Physical Science. What you will need to succeed: It is preferred that the successful candidate has 12 years of relevant professional work experience within the private sector/Multilateral Organisations/ International Organisations/ Govt/ donor agencies. Experience and or knowledge of similar work being undertaken in one of the three target regions for ISA (Africa, Asia/Pacific, Latin America) will be highly regarded. Strong analytical capabilities and experience in conducting risk assessments to guide fund mobilization priorities and project initiation decisions in a complex regulatory environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills on highly technical solar programs A strategic experience in stakeholder relationship management/technology management within the solar energy sector. Demonstrated solar technology project management experience, including balancing multiple assignments from conception to completion on schedule and within budget. Your Place of Work: (if successful with the recruitment process) This role will be based out of the Secretariat of the ISA, Gurgaon, Haryana State, or at the ISA s facility in Delhi, India or any other facility deemed necessary by the ISA.
