  • Temporary fulltime opportunity up to 30 June 2026 with the possibility for extension or conversion to ongoing 35 hrs/week
  • Office based in Parramatta; flexible working supported
  • Salary relative to experience and ranges from $110 266 to $122058 super

About the team

The DCCEEW Social Media Team was created in February 2024 and since that time has reached 4.8Mpeople across the state with critical updates on topics such as our transition to Net Zeroand the protection and enhancement of our environment and heritage. A critical role of this inhouse team is ensuring our output is on brand complies with relevant governance modelsand both enhances and protects the departments reputation.

About the role

The Social Media Advisor creates compelling and audiencecentric content for DCCEEW channels that is best in class and adds value to the lives of NSW residents. You have sound knowledge of the latest social media trends are across pop culture and understand how to capture attention in a noisy online world. You will confidently engage with stakeholders and make evidencebased recommendations around social media activity.

About you

You are an experienced and proactive social media professional passionate about creating engaging and exciting content. To be successful in in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience managing social media channels especially in the environment or energy sector.
  • Strong skills in content creation (video editing graphic design photo editing).
  • Familiar with social media and pop culture trends and how to apply these to achieve a communications objective
  • Experience in reporting on social media performance including providing solid rationale and evidencebased recommendations to stakeholders
  • Excellent stakeholder management communication and project management skills.

DCCEEW conserves and protects the states natural environment. It manages the NSW National Park estate including its rich and diverse biodiversity and Aboriginal cultural heritage for future generations.

DCCEEW also ensures sustainable management of water resources across the state to support the environment communities and industry.

We acknowledge the ongoing custodial responsibilities of the Aboriginal peoples of NSW to care for Country and water and are committed to establishing meaningful partnerships with Aboriginal peoples in the management of the environment.
