The South Shore Charter Public School seeks to hire a full time long term substitute Receptionist/Administration Support staff member to start May 12 2025 through June 18 2025 and then restart after summer break on August 18 2025 through November 26 2025. This position is part of a team of administrative support staff for the South Shore Charter Public Schools K8 campus. The support staff work collaboratively and collegially to ensure that all communications and aspects of their assigned tasks run smoothly for the entire building. The receptionist is often the first person that a parent visitor volunteer or member of the general public meets or speaks to on the phone. In many respects the receptionist serves as an ambassador for SSCPS.Reports to: AdministrationHours:7:30 am3:30 pm Monday through Friday during the academic year. Job Responsibilities1.Promotes a collegial and welcoming learning environment greeting visitors/parents.2.Monitors all people entering and leaving the school by the front door and buzzes in people at the front entrance.3.Makes certain that all visitors signin and are issued a visitors badge.4.Accurately enters and updates daily attendance data into the network system Administrators Plus.5.Maintains accurate and uptodate attendance files.6.Distributes laptops.7.Assists with dismissal.8.Assists with fire drill/evacuation attendance.9.Answers telephones and directs calls to appropriate person.10.Provides information to prospective families and maintains inquiry information.11.Distributes incoming mail and faxes.12.Maintains general office supplies and notifies Administration when supplies are running low.13.Assists with front copying and faxing when requested.14.Delivers packages and express mail to appropriate staff.15.Delivers Friday afternoon outgoing mail to Post Office.16.Assists with all school communications and large tasks as directed by the Administrative Staff.17.Supervises students in front lobby.18.Follows all school dismissal safety and security protocols.19.Is able to effectively and professionally communicate the School Dismissal and Student Pickup Policy to all parents to ensure the policy is being followed consistently and students are being picked up on time.20. Provides administrative support as needed.
