Job Description
- Leads daytoday activities and communications within the department
- Trains and develops departmental team and leads employees in Continuous Improvement Programs.
- Responsible for the training and development of all new hires and temporary employees.
- Supervises work output and effectiveness for team members.
- Ensures accurate training of employees in proper job performance and expectations.
- Partners with crossfunctional team. Responds to Production Operations and Quality Control to ensure product output meets throughput and quality standards set forth by Operations and Quality management.
- Document the progress of new employees and assist the Assembly Production Manager in the 90day evaluations for these employees.
- Observes the progress and performance of all operators material handlers and printer packers to assist the Assembly Production Manager in the evaluation of these employees; Makes recommendations based on performance.
- Track and post daily departmental metrics as established by Plant Management.
- Ensure inventory of departmental PPE is adequate to perform regular production.
- Assist with any other duties and projects as required.
- Oneyear prior leadership experience preferably in a manufacturing setting
- Experience in a lean manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Computer proficientMicrosoft Windows based computer operation.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed sometimes on short notice or on weekends.
- Ability to do shift work as necessary.
