What you will be doing:
- Assign and review the work of the laundry team engaged in receiving washing ironing packaging and delivering.
- Ensure that all the Standard Operating Procedures set for the laundry department are followed.
- Any matter which may affect the interests of the hotel should be brought to the attention of the Management.
- Plan and ensure to implement preventive maintenance for all the laundry equipment.
- Plan and budget the revenues and costs for the Laundry department.
- Check all laundry machinery to ensure that all filters are cleaned regularly and press covers are in good condition; report any machine defects to Engineering.
- Identify optimal costeffective use of the resources and educate the team on the same.
- Keep a strict control and record of items sent for laundering by staff members.
- Ensure that the laundry equipment and area of work is maintained in a clear safe & hygienic manner and as per the standards.
- Supervise and direct the daily activities of all laundry staff and are responsible for the efficient and smooth operation of the department.
Qualifications :
Your experience and skills include:
- Post Secondary education preferably in Hospitality Management or a related field
- Minimum 3 years Laundry experience preferably in a luxury hotel environment with 1 year at a supervisory level
- Proven experience in managing largescale laundry operations and drycleaning services
- Indepth knowledge of industrial laundry equipment chemicals and processes
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in laundry operations
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams including scheduling and performance management
- Warm and caring personality; previous housekeeping experience is an asset
- Ability to anticipate and focus attention on guest needs being professional and welcoming
- Excellent organizational skills and time management
