VMWare Specialist

Location: Fully on site Basingstoke

Your role

As a VMware Specialist you will play a crucial role in the creation of an Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform using VMware technologies including vRealize Orchestrator (VRO) VMware Cloud Director (VCD) and NSXT. You will collaborate with crossfunctional teams to architect deploy and optimize virtualized environments tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients.

Your transferable skills and experience:

  • Design and implement VMwarebased IaaS solutions according to client requirements and industry best practices.
  • Configure and optimize VMware vRealize Orchestrator (VRO) workflows for automating provisioning deployment and management tasks.
  • Deploy and manage VMware Cloud Director (VCD) instances including resource pools organizations virtual data centers and networking.
  • Implement and configure NSXT for softwaredefined networking and security within the virtualized environment.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and operations teams to integrate VMware solutions with existing systems and technologies.
  • Provide technical expertise and support during the testing troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to VMware infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including architectural diagrams standard operating procedures and technical guides.
  • Stay updated on emerging VMware technologies trends and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
  • Proven experience designing implementing and managing VMwarebased virtualization solutions with a focus on vRealize Orchestrator (VRO) VMware Cloud Director (VCD) and NSXT.
  • Indepth knowledge of virtualization concepts VMware vSphere architecture and related technologies.
  • Handson experience with scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell Python) for automation and customization of VMware environments.
  • Strong understanding of softwaredefined networking (SDN) principles and experience with NSXT configuration and management.
  • Excellent analytical problemsolving and troubleshooting skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile team environment and communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • VMware certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) are highly desirable.
