THE OPPORTUNITY
Standens is seeking a Manager Human Resources to lead the HR team in delivering comprehensive HR services ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and fostering a highperformance culture. This role encompasses a broad spectrum of HR responsibilities including recruitment employee relations compensation benefits training and development internal communications performance management and health wellness and safety programs.
The Manager Human Resources will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing HR strategies that support business objectives while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and best practices. This role also involves managing WCB claims overseeing occupational health and safety (OHS) initiatives and maintaining HRIS systems.
The Manager will report directly to the President of Standens and will be based in Calgary Alberta.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Human Resources Leadership
- Lead and coordinate the HR team ensuring the effective implementation of HR strategies and initiatives aligned with corporate goals.
- Provide strategic guidance and support on all HRrelated matters including workforce planning recruitment and talent development.
- Oversee employee relations performance management and disciplinary processes ensuring compliance with company policies and employment legislation.
- Manage HR operations across the Calgary facility and remote distribution centers.
- Oversee and maintain HRIS systems ensuring data integrity and compliance with employment regulations.
- Develop implement and monitor policies to ensure they align with current legislation and industry best practices.
- Administer compensation benefits and pension programs ensuring compliance and effective communication with employees.
- Lead diversity equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives to foster an inclusive workplace culture.
- Drive employee engagement and retention strategies including satisfaction surveys and action planning.
- Prepare and manage the HR budget ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Actively participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) at Standens contributing to strategic decisionmaking and overall business direction.
- Strong business acumen is a valuable asset for this role to effectively align HR strategies with business objectives.
Health Safety & Wellness
- Lead the companys safety program ensuring compliance with OHS regulations and internal policies.
- Manage WCB claims returntowork programs and disability management processes.
- Provide leadership in emergency preparedness workplace safety audits and risk assessments.
- Oversee the implementation and delivery of health and wellness programs to promote employee wellbeing.
- Serve as the companys representative for regulatory inspections and safetyrelated investigations.
Training & Development
- Implement training programs to enhance employee skills and ensure compliance with safety quality and government requirements.
- Support managers in coaching performance management and leadership development initiatives.
- Identify areas for improvement in learning and development and implement strategies to address gaps.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A postsecondary education in Human Resource Management Business Administration or a related field; CPHR designation preferred.
- 10 years of progressive experience in HR leadership with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing HR functions in facilities with 200 employees.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems with handson administrative experience.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation workplace safety regulations and collective agreements.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence and build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Experience managing WCB claims and working with OHS regulations.
- Strong analytical problemsolving and conflictresolution skills.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
