Job Description
The Director of Financial Assistance is responsible for managing financial aid services for Metropolitan Colleges graduate students.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Provide advising and administrative support to graduate students regarding their financial aid options.
- Evaluate and analyze detailed confidential student financial information to determine student eligibility for financial aid.
- Provide guidance on financial aid applications to support determinations of award and denial decisions consistent with federal law and University policy.
- Counsel and respond to questions appeals and complaints of graduate students regarding University financial aid decisions.
- Administer certain College scholarship programs prepare reports and supervise additional College financial assistance staff.
Required Skills
- Bachelors degree required
- Masters degree preferred
- Knowledge of university federal and state financial aid regulations guidelines policies and programs
- The ability to be detail oriented and to manage time efficiently
- The ability to process a high volume of financial aid applications with strict deadlines
- The ability to maintain strict confidentiality in dealing with students financial situations
- Three to five years of related work experience in a college/university financial aid office
