Job Description

As a Project Controls Coordinator at Tomlinson you will play a crucial role in supporting the development establishment and maintenance of the companys project cost/control systems. You will work closely with project teams to ensure continuity between project estimates and baselines assist in the setup of project accounting systems and monitor project performance to ensure proper implementation of project control systems. Your responsibilities will include generating project status reports analyzing project schedules and cost reports and providing input for improvement to project controls policies and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in developing establishing and maintaining project cost/control systems.

  • Assist in proposal and estimating efforts to ensure alignment between project estimates and project budgets.

  • Help develop detailed resourceloaded schedules in P6.

  • Assist in setting up complete accurate project cost plans in the companys ERP system.

  • Monitor project performance and ensure proper implementation of project control systems.

  • Generate project status reports for internal management and customers.

  • Review and analyze project schedules and updates suggesting corrective actions as needed.

  • Support budget and forecast management during project .

  • Participate in weekly project controls meetings and monthly job cost meetings.

  • Produce custom reports from SAP/P6 as required.

  • Provide input for continuous improvement of project controls policy and guidelines.

  • Assist accounting groups as needed.

  • Manage project cost and revenue budgets.

  • Oversee daily timesheet labor equipment and procurement costs allocation.

  • Produce project cost and cash flow reporting and earned value management reporting.

  • Coordinate with construction management team for productivity management.

  • Analyze project costing with earned value management.

  • Ensure project risk contingency and accruals are managed appropriately.

  • Provide support for continuous improvement reporting.

Required Knowledge & Qualifications:

  • College or university degree in engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.

  • 23 years of project controls or equivalent construction experience.

  • Experience with scheduling software (P6 and ERP systems (SAP).

  • Knowledge of project management principles and earned value.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees.

  • Willingness for continuous learning and career advancement.

  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel to projects.

  • AACE CCT CCP or PSP certification will be considered an asset.

  • Experience working on infrastructure projects.

  • Knowledge of cost engineering best practices.

  • Strong collaboration and team dynamic skills.

  • Ability to work independently and seek personal development opportunities.
