Role overview

Its an exciting time for us here at Hastings Direct. Our Risk Pricing team is expanding in line with our ambition to be the Best and Biggest digital insurer in the UK and with this growth in mind we have an exciting opportunity for a curious creative and datadriven character to dive into Risk Pricing identifying opportunities to improve how we assess risk to give a fairer price to our customers.

With a supportive determined and driven team around you your job is to influence and innovate in our decision making.

Everything we do starts and ends with our data so whether its by drawing insights from it exploring new ways of how we use it or finding value in more that we can add to it youll be up close and personal with the work that makes a direct impact on the daytoday success of the business.

A day in the life might involve:

  • Perusing our reports for a lead that you can chase down.

  • Collaborating with other areas of our department to bring a new data source to life.

  • Owning and sharing your ideas at an executive level making real change.


Essential skills we would love you to have:

However far we delve into the data we feel its important to keep sight of the bigger picture; were looking for people who are comfortable and confident with numerical and statistical information that are able to explain what they are seeing with a range of detail.

Wed also love it if you knew your way around an analytical programming environment whether that be Python R or any other language/toolkit that you use to find solutions.

Whilst the technical skills to yield results are a vital element of your skillset we get excited when we see you get excited. We want you to take the initiative innovate and be accountable & honest for the approaches you take and most importantly be passionate about the work you do.

The interview process

Our interview process involves the below:

  • Recruiter screening call

  • 1st stage interview with hiring leader

  • 2nd interview with hiring leaders (panel)
