Job Description
- Design deploy and maintain highly available and scalable network architectures including LAN WAN VPN and cloud networks.
- Implement and manage security measures across network infrastructure including firewalls intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and VPNs to protect against threats.
- Monitor network performance and security logs and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and security of the network.
- Configure and manage firewalls to ensure that access control policies are effectively enforced and that the network is protected from unauthorized access.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions to enhance network security.
- Work closely with the IT DevOps and development teams to ensure seamless integration of network and security solutions with existing systems.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans and lead the response efforts in case of security breaches or network incidents.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations security policies and incident reports.
- Ensure that network security practices comply with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g. ISO 27001 GDPR).
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or a related field required.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in networking and security engineering preferably in the telecommunications sector.
- Proficiency in network design and architecture (LAN WAN VPN etc..
- Strong experience with network security tools (firewalls IDS/IPS VPNs).
- Knowledge of SIEM and SOC.
- Expertise in configuring and managing network devices (routers switches load balancers).
- Familiarity with security standards and best practices (e.g. ISO 27001 NIST).
- Knowledge of cloud networking and security (AWS Azure Google Cloud).
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP CCNA Security CISSP or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Ability to automate network and security tasks using scripting languages (e.g. Python Bash).
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills excellent communication abilities and a collaborative approach.
- Advanced certifications such as CCIE CISM or equivalent.
- Previous experience working within the telecommunications industry.
- Handson experience with cloud security tools and practices.
