POSITION SUMMARY:
The Community Engagement & Workforce Specialist plays a key role in developing and
maintaining partnerships with businesses nonprofit organizations and community
stakeholders to create internship and job opportunities for students. This position supports the districts workforce development initiatives by coordinating outreach efforts fostering
relationships tracking program impact and organizing events that connect students with
career pathways. Additionally the Specialist collaborates with internal and external partners to enhance student opportunities align programs with industry needs and promote engagement through strategic communication efforts. This position reports to the Deputy Superintendentof Administrative Services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and maintains partnerships with businesses nonprofits and other organizations to create internship and job opportunities for students.
Collaborates with schoolbased staff including school counselors Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) personnel and workbased learning coordinators to align student workforce opportunities with career pathways.
Monitors and tracks student internship and job placement data to assess program effectiveness and provide reports to district leadership.
Assists in planning and implementing community outreach strategies that promote workforce development and student career pathways.
Supports district grant initiatives by identifying workforcerelated partnership opportunities that align with funding requirements.
Organizes and coordinates special events career fairs and networking opportunities for students employers and community partners.
Creates marketing materials social media content and outreach communications to increase awareness of student internship and job programs.
Responds to inquiries from community members businesses and other stakeholders regarding partnership opportunities and student workforce initiatives.
All other duties as assigned and required in order to perform the above services.
KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree in related field preferred.
Minimum of three 3 years of experience in community relations workforce development business partnerships career and technical education (CTE) public relations or a related field required. Experience working in K12 education nonprofit organizations government agencies or corporate social responsibility programs is preferred.
Makes decisions and final recommendations which routinely affect the activities of others.
High level of judgment required: supervisor is available on limited time basis; individual required to establish and evaluate departmental and organizational objectives; media relations; independent judgment is required to review and approve major recommendations. Ability to interact positively and productively with all officials.
Requires regular frequent contact with internal personnel of influence and decisionmaking responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance; requires continuing contact with officials at higher levels. Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with interorganizational leaders and administrators.

Responsible for performing multiple functions with a highlevel of accountability for effective operation and results. Effective time management and organization abilities are required. Strong analytical troubleshooting and problemsolving skills are also required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software and other programs as deemed necessary to support workrelated functions.
Normal office setting.
May require travel to offsite training locations school site visits and community site visits.
Light duty On most occasions sitting at a desk or table; intermittently sitting standing or stooping.
Light lifting or carrying; twenty 20 lbs. or less.
NOTE: This is a Grade 22 225day position that pays for experience up to a Step 4.
