The Franklin Public Schools a Prek12 district is seeking a skilled and experienced long term substitute special education teacher to serve at the Keller Elementary School. The teacher will work in a model of service delivery offering academic support and coteaching in the general education classrooms combined with pull out specialized instruction for small groups and individuals. Students requiring assistance and support have mild to moderate disabilities. Key Duties and Responsibilities:Plan for the effective specialized instruction and intervention for students on IEPs within and outside the general education classroom;Provide specialized reading instruction using a research based multisensory reading programAdminister formal diagnostic assessments and tests for students initially referred and for threeyear reevaluations of caseload students;Administer ongoing progress monitoring strategic monitoring and benchmark systems; Schedule prepare for and attend Team meetings for newly referred and caseload students;Write comprehensive progress reports and IEPsCollaborate with general education staff with respect to appropriate accommodations and modifications;Provide ongoing positive communication with parents;Collect and analyze student data against IEP goals Qualifications:Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred;Must have a Massachusetts licensure in Moderate Special Needs through the Department of Elementary & Secondary Education;Wilson or OG training or certification Must have demonstrated success with and be knowledgeable about current researchbased interventions for children with disabilities;Must possess demonstrated ability to develop positive behavior intervention plans;Experience/training in Brain Frames EmPOWER Writing highly desirable;Experience with the administration and interpretation of a wide range of formal and informal diagnostic assessment and evaluation tools;Excellent writing and communication skills required
