You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Program Coordinator is a part of Office for Biomedical Research Education (BRET) and Training within the School of Medicines Vanderbilt Basic Sciences and is responsible for managing the several key functions and operations of the BRET office. This position will work independently and in collaboration with the Assistant Director of Postdoctoral Support within the work unit. This position will report to the Assistant Director of Postdoctoral Support.
Duties require moderate exercise of independent judgment initiative and the ability to make decisions relative to the departments operations as well as other tasks assigned. The position will function with a high degree of understanding of university life policies and procedures.
Research Trainee Appointments
Postdoctoral appointments
Review and approve postdoc appointment and reappointment requests for the School of Medicine (Basic Sciences and VUMC).
Serve as the School of Medicine Point of Contact (SPOC) for the School of Medicine (VU & VUMC) department administrators and the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.
Manage timely communication flow of appointment and termination process for annual appointments per year with 34 different departments.
Compile data monthly on postdoc appointments and analyze for program outcomes and communications.
Review Postdoc Individual Development Plan and report for further assessment by the Assistant Director of Postdoc Support
Develops and maintains BRET postdoctoral website.
Collaborate with Assistant Director of Postdoctoral Affairs to resolve issues and support trainees with their concerns.
Collaborate with Director of Trainee Engagement and Wellbeing to resolve issues and support trainees
