we are seeking a Senior Account Analyst/Collector who will analyze tenant and customer accounts to prioritize reconciliation and collection efforts to keep AR balances below established Company thresholds across the portfolio. This position will be in our Greensboro Corporate office within our Accounting Department and is considered hybrid.
About the Role:
As the Senior Account Analyst/Collector you will be proactive in your approach to identify effective solutions to collect on past due accounts in a timely manner while supporting Collection Specialists with effective resolution of past due balances. You will also provide reporting of AR balances across Tangers portfolio.

How you will contribute to what we do:
- Support challenging AR reconciliations by serving as the next level of escalation when Collection Specialists need assistance.
- Determine the accuracy of account billings according to relevant contractual obligations.
- Prepare billing adjustments as appropriate per account analysis and include all supporting documentation with adjustments to Lease Accounting for review approval and posting.
- Follow up on adjusted accounts and work with the tenant for payment and timely clearing of the account
- Support the Collections Specialist by being proactive in identifying where AR account reconciliations are needed. Work with the team to begin the reconciliation process where appropriate and available.
- Maintain reporting status of past due targets goals and metrics.
- Prioritize your workload to effectively track and monitor changing AR balances in a timely manner
- Collaborate with tenant/customers to negotiate payment arrangements to follow up to make sure payments are made and escalate as needed.
- Recommend engagement of outside collection agencies when necessary.
- Prepare reports for the Legal and Leasing teams as needed regarding AR balances in preparation for bankruptcies and/or workout plans. Provide these reports to supervisors for review approval and distribution to the Legal and Leasing teams.
- Recommend and prepare adjustments for writeoffs of uncollectible balances with escalated accounts and submit these to supervisors for approval.
- Identify monitor and prepare reports on AtRisk Tenants and provide to supervisor for review approval and distribution.
- Prepare periodic reports of significant past due receivables.
- Collect on all national accounts for Marketing Partnerships & Specialty leasing within 4 months of due date.
- Maintain files approvals and supporting documentation in accordance with collection policies and procedures.
About You:
- You hold an associates degree in finance accounting or a related field and have three 3 years of experience in collections AR and account reconciliation or equivalent experience/education.
- You can focus on the results and desired outcomes and how best to achieve them.
- You have a high level of initiative and strong follow through.
- You possess strong negotiation and persuasion skills with the ability to deescalate stressful situations while maintaining excellent customer service skills.
- You possess excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise good judgement.
- You display a positive attitude and have strong organizational skills.
- You can read and write in the English language.

Hiring Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location experience and performance. The range listed is just one component of Tangers total compensation package for employees.
Target Base Salary:$60000 to $75000 per year
