Who Are We Prospect Hill Academy Charter School is a highly successful urban PK12 public school located in Somerville and Cambridge. We enroll over 900 students from cities and towns throughout the greater Boston metro area. As a
Math teacher at Prospect Hill Academy Middle School your focus will be to support students in making mathematical thinking logic and problemsolving valuable and meaningful parts of their identities and lives. A passion for applying mathematical thinking to realworld dilemmas and contexts is critical to success in this role. As importantly you will need to draw on and be committed to developing the following skills:
- Development of interdisciplinary projects and curricula that connect mathematical learning and problemsolving with students lives and communities
- Implementing constructivist mathematics instruction that prioritizes student exploration discovery sensemaking and problemsolving in order to develop independent and collaborative math learners
- Differentiating instruction to make math accessible and challenging for all learners
- Examining and challenging personal biases and systemic inequities in pursuit of antiracist teaching curricula and culture

What Knowledge Skills and Experiences are needed for this role- Bachelors degree required
