Job Description
The Maintenance Planner develops a maintenance work order backlog that is Ready to Execute by utilizing existing standards to plan sequenced tasks. They estimate the time required for craftsmen to complete those tasks in the field specify the appropriate parts materials and services needed and integrate with other functions to ensure alignment with business priorities and schedules. This position creates weekly maintenance schedules that are fully resourced with manpower and feasible in terms of parts and services. They also integrate with production and supply chain functions to ensure alignment with business priorities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Plan maintenance work orders by a combination of field work and utilization of existing task lists
- Work with parts coordinator to ensure parts for critical equipment are attached to functional locations/equipment as part of BOMs
- Adjust work order plans by incorporating feedback from mechanics in the field
- Build standard task lists for repetitive jobs
- Execute weekly scheduling process by developing resource and materials feasible schedules based on inputs from stakeholders
- Review work orders to determine if work order is acceptable
- Perform field planning; Identify job steps & sequences
- Acts as the focal point for Material/Tool/Equipment issues during for jobs planned
- Responsible for updating Task lists in SAP
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) plans for existing and new equipment.
- Followup on the of the PM plan and make corrections to the PM plan as needed.
- Review and update on a regularly basis the PM plan.
Requirements:
- 3 years related work experience
- High School Diploma/GED
- Strong mechanical aptitude is required
- High degree of proficiency with SAP Plant Maintenance Module
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications especially MS Excel
- Physical Demands: Occasional sitting climbing/balancing stooping/twisting kneeling squatting crawling push/pull reaching and gripping; frequent standing walking and visual acuity (near/far); occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
- Environmental Conditions: Occasional exposure to uneven ground extreme temperatures working at heights biohazards; frequent exposure to excessive noise dust/fumes hazards and machinery
