Job Description
The Center for Student Engagement is looking for a motivated student for the Media Webmaster position. The Media Webmaster is expected to work closely with the ASUN Student Media team and other university departments to ensure the success of the websites and organizations.
Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the ASUN Student Media websites and the Nevada ASUN website
Develop and implement new features and functionality for the websites using WordPress
Ensure the websites are uptodate secure and optimized for performance
Collaborate with the ASUN Student Media team to ensure that the websites meet the needs of the organization
Provide technical support to staff and students who use the websites
Manage web hosting and domain management for the websites
Install manage and maintain WordPress plugins and themes
Required Qualifications
Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada Reno
Candidate is majoring in Computer Science Web Development or a related field
Candidate has familiarity with Apple Macintosh computers including macOS and Mac hardware
Candidate has knowledge of web development WordPress HTML and CSS
Candidate has skills revolving around plugin management web hosting and domain management
Preferred Qualifications
Candidate has experience working in JavaScript and PHP
Candidate has knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices
Candidate has familiarity with Google Analytics and other web analytics tools
Candidate has experience working in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop and InDesign
Candidate has an understanding of web accessibility standards and best practices
