What are we looking for

ThisStaffEngineer position isresponsible for providing technical expertise to personnel and operations at the local or regional level; for recommending and managing capital expenditure projects; and for assessing and developing local training. This position is the primary resource for review and approval of test procedures methods and interpretations.

Salary & Benefits Information

The base wage or salary range for this position is$100K $125K. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set experience qualifications and other jobrelated reasons.

What youll do:

Listed examples are illustrative and representative of the tasks required of this position and are not intended to be complete or exclusive.

  • Provide local management with technical assessment of engineering skills and performance levels.
  • Responsible for assessing training of the technical staff and development of new training programs.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance on technical issues test procedures and standards interpretations.
  • Provides expertise in multiple product categories.
  • Provide quotes for a large array of standards and complex projects and products.
  • Research new standards technologies and trends in standards.
  • Handle calibration issues.
  • Develop and communicate test procedures.
  • Represent Intertek on technical committees code panels and/or associations.
  • Support accreditations activities such as audit followup and corrective actions. Investigate technical complaints. Audit and qualify sites for special Intertek programs.
  • Design new test fixtures and report shells.
  • Provide complex sales support such as giving presentations during client visits.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients as needed.
  • Recommend and prepare capital expenditure requests and manage capital projects.
  • Perform other work asrequired.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelorsdegree in engineering.
  • 6 years directly relatedexperience.
  • Advanced experience with U.S. Canadian and other internationalproduct safety standards i.e. ANSI CSA UL EN IEC.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to apply principles of logic or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practicalproblems.
  • Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas scientific equations graphs etc. in its most difficultphases.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concretevariables.
  • Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently where limited standardizationexists.
  • Ability to work in fastpaced multitasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
  • Must be detailedoriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload with efficient time management.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal written and presentation formats.
  • Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties.
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written formats.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel 50 including international travel.
  • Valid driverslicense and reliable driving record.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering.
  • Mastersdegree in engineering
  • 8 years of experience in a directly related field/industry.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.
