Description
This is a temporary position.

The Senior Business Systems Analyst Hotel Front Office Operations Products leads analysis efforts and/or functions as a technofunctional expert. This role collaborates with client and information technology organizations to lead the definition of functional requirements and functional designs of creative solutions that will support the clients strategy and future business includes partnership with business stakeholders and close collaboration with Technology Product and Engineering team members.

The Senior Business Analyst supports the Hotel Operations Product organization in clarifying functional requirements and functional design with a specific focus on complex solutions requiring operations research solutions. The candidate performs independent research to proactively identify and analyze future opportunities and emerging solutions to drive improvement.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

Required:

  • 5 years experience in information technology application design or development
  • 3 years experience in business systems analysis or project management on software development projects
  • 6 years experience with converting business needs into technology requirements and working within Technology to manage the of projects
  • 4year degree from an accredited university preferably in a technology and business discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Agile Development methodology and tools (CSPO or CSM certification a plus)
  • Experience with project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience facilitating requirements analysis and functional design working sessions
  • Experience identifying and analyzing alternative solutions to complex business requirements and providing guidance and advice
  • Experience with business process reengineering
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills
  • Ability to get into the technical weeds to come to a solution
  • Excellent communicator both written and spoken
  • Extensive experience with business analysis of operations research problems relating to assignment of inventory (e.g. rooms)
  • Familiar with UI capabilities afforded by a Salesforce Service Cloud product
  • Deep familiarity with PMS systems such as Agilysys Opera etc.
  • Familiarity with rooms control function in hospitality industry
  • Prior experience working with and familiarity with hospitality industry applications and processes within Marriotts ecosystem
  • Prior experience working with and familiarity with Marriotts existing information architecture application portfolio and information management methodology

Preferred:

  • Familiaritywith and background in cloudbased custom applications
  • Ability to manage and work with onshore and offshore service providers
  • Proven expertise in software integrations particularly within the API landscape

CORE WORK ACTIVTITES

Technical Leadership

  • Facilitates business requirements analysis and functional design work sessions including creating business presentations communications and documentation
  • Lead functional design including demonstrations to stakeholders to validate approach
  • Identifies creative solutions to business requirements analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of alternatives and provides recommendations
  • Works with external vendors and analogous companies to obtain additional insights approaches and demonstrations of solutions
  • Collaborates with the client organization including business analysts in the client organizations
  • Document functional integration and testing requirements as well as SLAs and operating level agreements
  • Leads technology cost/resource estimates and input to business cases
  • Work with the Technology Product organizations during development to address functional requirements and functional design clarifications
  • Provide expertise and update multiyear technology roadmaps
  • Provide expertise to training and field support groups as appropriate before new releases golive
  • Identifies opportunities to enhance the business partnership and planning processes
  • Trains and/or mentors other team members and peers as appropriate

Technology Governance

  • Follows all defined technology standards and processes (i.e. Technology Governance Architecture etc. and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed
  • Participates in technical evaluation process when assessing additions or changes to defined technology standards

The pay range for this position is $47.35 to $75.91 per hour.

Washington Applicants Only: Employees will accrue 0.0334 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 9 holidays annually.
