Job Description

The Senior Manager Operational Risk and Resilience Oversight (ORRO) will lead and support various risk programs to enhance Manulifes operational risk and resilience capability. With a focus on Risk & Controls Program and the RCSA Methodology the Senior Manager will support the initiative to revamp the Program and enhancing the methodology and approach to integrate key risks (IT Tech HR Finance etc. into the business process assessment. The Senior Manager will also lead the reporting to show effectiveness of the program escalate gaps and recommend actions.

The Senior Manager will work closely with segment risk teams and key business stakeholders (i.e. 1b) to provide guidance to better identify and manage current and emerging risks and demonstrating

appropriate risk behaviours and culture.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support the revamp of the Risk and Controls Program and the RCSA Methodology. Create implementation plan and engagement model to get buyin from key stakeholders and risk partners to integrate key risks into the business processes.

  • Lead and own the templates guidelines to support the business and segment risks in performing and reviewing the outputs.

  • Design KPIs/KRIs to demonstrate the effectiveness of the program providing linking to other risk management tools such as operational risk events incidents scenario testing results etc.

  • Where applicable provide oversight and challenge over the of risk programs such as RCSA Operational Risk Events etc. as well as its reporting capabilities and process.

  • Education and training should have a particular focus on integrating with their existing risk resilience and compliance processes to help ensure sustainability and avoid duplication of effort.

  • Share key information including risk exposures resilience posture and maturity loss data and risk

  • management/control best practices to various business operations and technology contacts to facilitate sharing of learnings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Business and technology risk and resilience experience within a large Financial Institution

  • Minimum 68 years of experience in operational risk management technology operations or compliance background

  • University undergraduate degree with a relevant advanced professional designation preferred

  • (e.g. MBA Finance Risk Actuarial Technology)

  • Solid experience in designing implementing and validating the effectiveness risk programs across different layers.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills including ability to translate complex technical issues into fundamental concepts.

  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with ability to think strategically Excellent problemsolving skills ability to see the big pictures with high attention to critical details.

  • Selfstarter with the ability to work with little guidance

  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements and experienced in detailed analysis on interpretations.

  • Very strong leadership communication and influencing skills are a must.

  • Proven track record of being a collaborative and transformative leader.

  • Strong project management skills and experience. Will manage multiple initiatives across many different teams. The ability to get meaningful participation and support from many different resources and other departments will be critical to success.

  • Highly developed business acumen with a pragmatic approach to solving problems and implementing solutions. Act as a consultant to the businesses and assist in designing approaches to the implementation of the ORRO Framework that work for each business

Salary range is expected to be between

$86250.00 CAD $155250.00 CAD
