Job Description

Position Summary
To weld all ferrous and nonferrous metals using GMAW GTAW Soldering and Brazing for the purpose of manufacturing STERISproduct.

Duties
- Setup and operate welding equipment (GMAW GTAW Brazing Soldering and Stud Welding) using prescribedmethods and procedures to weld parts within acceptable tolerances and standards.
- Ability to build weldments through manual layout process when required.
- Read and interpret STERISwelding blueprints Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) includingstandard welding symbols travelers and other working documents.
- Use required measuring instruments and gages to check and ensure parts meet dimensional requirements.
- Communicate clearly both verbally and written with Engineers Quality personnel supervisors and fellow teamemployees.
- Complete all projects assignments and duties as directed and instructed by the area supervisor.
- Take responsibility for the quality of all parts by inspecting and immediately reporting any problemsdiscrepancies/or irregularities to the supervisor.
- Follow 5S methodology to keep machines and work area clean neat and orderly on a daily basis.
- Assist in training other employees in the welding department.
- Remain safety conscious at all times wearing all prescribed personal protective equipment and by observing allsafety rules stated in the Employee Handbook.
- Complete any and all projects assignments and duties as directed and instructed.
- Conform to all policies procedures and rules of conduct as communicated through the Employee HandbookBulletin Boards Newsletters and any other vehicle by which information is distributed by STERIS Management.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal or no supervision if needed.
Education Degree
- High School Diploma or GED
Required Experience
- Minimum two years experience ferrous and nonferrous metals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and members of the leadership team.
- Assist with training other operators.
- Ability to make decisions and stay quality focused.
- Ability to understand and follow work instructions both written and oral.
- Ability to adapt to conditions as dictated by business requirements.
- Ability to work with others.
- Willingness to work overtime if required.
Skills
- Must be able to satisfy AMSE welder performance qualification testing in both GMAW and GTAW welding ofstainless mild steel and aluminum.
- Must be able to read and interpret welding blueprints including all standard welding symbols.
- Must be able to use precision measuring instruments and gages.
- Must be capable of lifting 40 pounds without assistance.
