BACKGROUND & ASSIGNMENT PURPOSE:
HR requires an experienced HR Consultant to work on two main areas:
1 Act as a technical expert on ICSC classification standards and advise the team on complex classification cases as well as on the review of Job Profiles;
2 Provide specialized input and materials for the course design and act as lead facilitator of an online Job Evaluation training for WFP HR colleagues across the organization. This assignment will be conducted fully remotely.
REPORTING LINES AND DELIVERABLES:
Under the overall guidance of the Chief HR Talent Acquisition and Deployment and the direct supervision of the HR Officer the Consultant will:
Job Classification (remote)
and support the team with complex job classification requests
reviews and provide technical advice to the team on the review of WFP job profiles to validate the alignment with the ICSC classification standards.
as a senior expert on Job Evaluation on other HR matters as required.
Job Evaluation training (remote)
to the training design by providing specialized input and materials
interactive online training providing theoretical information and reinforcing job evaluation principles.
participants to explore the use of ICSC Job Evaluation standards through practical exercises.
questions and provide practical tips to participants for more effective classification of jobs.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education:
Advanced University Degree in Human Resources Organizational development Industrial relations Business Administration or other related field. First University degree may be accepted with additional relevant courses and/or experience. Job Evaluation training or courses is a must
Experience:
12 or more years of experience in HR including in job evaluation organization alignment in United Nations agencies and programmes.
Knowledge & Skills:
Specialized knowledge of job evaluation and job design principles tools and methodologies.
Deep understanding of UN HR policies and practices.
Ability to partner with senior managers to understand priorities and provide expert advice and innovative solutions to support organizational aims.
Knowledge of how to analyse jobs structures and workforce composition.
Ability to clearly communicate with managers and staff; draft communication messages linking to the organizational strategies.
Ability to develop organizational change plans including communication plan.
Ability to work with people from different backgrounds.
Demonstrate confidence and cognitive capacity to assimilate different perspectives and formulate recommendations.
Languages:
Excellent knowledge of English. Good working knowledge of the second UN language preferably French Spanish or Arabic is desirable
