We have an exciting new opening for an EMC Engineer. Youll be given the opportunity to develop next generation products and technologies for the automotive industry.
As an individual contributor in the Electrification Center of Excellence (eCOE) and responding to the Hardware Engineering Manager the EMC Engineer drives the following activities:
- Contribute to hardware design to meet EMI/EMC requirements from concept to validation
- Lead EMI/EMC design reviews at critical development phases
- Build simulation models to aid design decisions and meet customer requirements
- Prepare test plans in coordination with products engineers and in compliance with customer requirements
- Lead troubleshooting issues in complying with EMI/EMC requirements
- Perform EMC testing at internal/external labs
- Prepare test result summary and analysis for internal/external communication
- Work with project/systems/hardware engineers to drive the project from EMI/EMC point of view including applicability of standards test levels timelines for tests etc.
Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of physics of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI)
- Extensive experience with EMC/EMI modeling and simulation using FEA tools such Ansys
- Through understanding of power analog and digital electronics
- Excellent knowledge of power integrity and signal integrity
- Experience with highvoltage highcurrent power electronics
- Experience with circuit simulation tools such as LTspice
- Familiarity with EMC standards for automotive consumer or aerospace products
- Prior experience with requirements management
- Understanding of project management
- Strong communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Automotive industry background
- Prior experience with threephase inverters or other highvoltage power electronics products
- Experience with EMI/EMC validation process for automotive applications
- Experience with Ansys electronics for conducted/radiated emission simulations
- Experience with Synopsys Saber for power electronics modeling
Education:
- Minimum of bachelors degree in electrical engineering MS or PhD with focus in power electronics and/or EMC preferred
