The Barrington School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate Middle School Special Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting students with diverse learning needs and a commitment to providing an inclusive supportive classroom environment. This role involves working with students to deliver specialized instruction implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with colleagues to support the academic social and emotional development of students with disabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs in accordance with district guidelines and state regulations.
- Provide direct instruction to students in both small group and oneonone settings adapting lessons to meet the needs of each student.
- Work closely with general education teachers to differentiate instruction and provide accommodations to ensure all students have access to the general education curriculum.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to support student growth.
- Collaborate with school staff including special education team members administrators and support staff to develop and implement appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate student records including progress reports and IEP documentation.
- Assist in the development of behavioral intervention plans (BIPs) for students as needed.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices in special education and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Foster a positive respectful and supportive classroom environment that promotes student independence selfadvocacy and growth.
- Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupils progress and interpret the school program
- Uses informal and formal assessment procedures such as but not limited to diagnostic achievement tests or classroom observations to assist with the provision of appropriate services
- Prepares progress reports and yearend evaluation administering pretests and posttest as necessary
- Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health attitude and learning problems
- Performs other duties as may reasonable be assigned by the Building Principal or Director of Student Services
