Job Description

To: All Staff Brockton Public SchoolsFrom: Dr. Kathleen F. Moran Assistant Superintendent of Human ResourcesSubject:Safety Care: April May 2025: ReCertificationThe Safety Care curriculum is designed to provide skills and competencies necessary to effectively prevent minimize and manage behavioral challenges for staff working with students who exhibit disruptive behaviors. Staff will learn skills to prevent a crisis respond to a crisis and intervene during and after a crisis to prevent the chances of reoccurrence. Participants should be aware that certification is good for one year and they must recertify yearly. This training is highly recommended for those staff working with student populations experiencing socialemotional and behavioral challenges and especially for staff working in special education classroom environments. The RECERTFICATION training is for those participants who have been trained in Safety Care within the past year and whose certification has not lapsed past the 90day grace period. Participants must take both classes in sequential order to receive certification. Compensation will not be provided unless individuals complete the entire course. Trainers can take up to 20 participants per session. Dates: Wednesdays April 30 May 7 2025Time: 4:007:00 pmInstructors: Team of Safety Care Trainers Location: BHS red cafeteriaCompensation: Contractual RateFunding Source: Title IV
