NI Fitter
We are currently recruiting for a NI Fitter to join our Team in Coventry. The successful candidate will be responsible for measuring & setting out lift/escalator installations in accordance with approved procedures. They will also
complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety.They will ensure preparation of work area for installation activities and handing over and confirming completion of installation activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Install lift/escalator Well and Ancillary Equipment in accordance with approved procedures by selecting appropriate tools and equipment based on the operations to be performed and the equipment to be installed
- Install Traction Equipment in accordance with approved procedures by selecting appropriate tools and equipment.Installation will require the siting assembly fitting alignment and adjustment of the lift/escalator equipment
- Installing Lift Ropes (traction media) and adjust in accordance with approved procedures.The applicant will be required to have install suspension safety and governor ropes to new or reconstructed lift equipment
- Installation of Lift Doors and Frames in accordance with approved procedures.The doors and frames to be installed include manual and poweroperated solid sliding doors multileaf doors hinged doors collapsible gates shutter gates and biparting doors and shutters door operators and safety devices for new or reconstructed lift equipment
- Checking and Setting the Lift/escalator Installation in accordance with approved procedures.The checks to be carried out include the final checks and adjustments to the operation of lift/escalator installations prior to final test and commissioning
- Carry out site surveys
- Keep the supervisor informed regarding the progress of work hours spent and any noncompliance
- Stay in communication with the customer and the supervisor to ensure the satisfaction of the customer needs
- Employees are required to attend all relevant training sessions
- Employees are required to carry out all works in accordance with the Companys Quality Corporate policy
- All employees are required to work in accordance the Companys Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements as well as setting a personal example of safebehaviour
- Employees will be required to contribute to the Company safety objectives where necessary by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes (where applicable) to its safety management system
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator Installation or equivalent.
- Possession of a relevant/valid Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
- More advanced product and Installation knowledge/experience.
- Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills
- The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- The ability to work independently with a flexible approach.
- Good communication skills at different levels (Client/Installation Managers/SAIS Inspectors)
- Good Punctuality
- Manual dexterity Requires the use of hands arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operate various hand and power tools and to record written information.
- Full UK driving License
