Job Description

The Role

Orora Beverage provides market-leading sustainable packaging solutions for the beverage industry. We specialise in glass bottles and aluminium cans with manufacturing sites across Australia and New Zealand.

Like our cans our customers brand and innovation needs come in all shapes and sizes. We support the entire beverage industry from craft brewers who are just starting out on their journey through to major companies with operations across the globe. Our customer markets include beer and cider alcoholic ready-to-drink carbonated soft drinks juices wine seltzers energy drinks and more.

Orora is expanding the capacity of its cans business investing millions to increase capacity at our Queensland site through introducing a new manufacturing line. This is where you come in.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting into the shift supervisor and working a 12hr rotating shift (7am-7pm 7pm -7AM) 24/6 days the key responsibilities of the role will include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining safety quality and manufacturing standards
  • Operating high speed machinery
  • Attending to mechanical breakdowns on shift
  • Reading & following SOPs
  • Contributing to our approach of continuous improvement and helping to achieve world class operational performance.
  • When required:
    • provide high level trouble shooting.
    • preventative maintenance tasks
    • assist in necessary modifications.
    • technical assistance to reduce production equipment downtime and spoilage.
    • assist in machinery changeovers.
    • monitoring machinery and resolving issues

About You

  • Trade Qualified Fitter
  • Minimum 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience preferably in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication problem solving and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong commitment to safe work practices
  • Willing to undertake a pre-employment medical which includes drug & alcohol testing.
  • Availability to work across 24hr rotating shift patterns.
