VP of Business Development Commercial Accounts (Producer)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Vice President (VP) of Business Development Commercial Accounts to lead and drive growth through strategic partnerships new business opportunities and expanding existing accounts. This role will focus on acquiring managing and retaining highvalue commercial clients including both direct business development and the nurturing of longterm relationships. The VP of Business Development will work closely with internal teams to craft customized solutions and ensure exceptional client satisfaction driving revenue growth in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business Development & Strategy:

    • Identify target and secure new commercial business accounts through direct prospecting networking and leveraging existing relationships.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to increase revenue from both new and existing clients.
    • Cultivate a strong pipeline of opportunities by researching and analyzing market trends client needs and competitive dynamics.
    • Engage in complex negotiations closing highvalue deals and ensuring the successful conversion of prospects into longterm clients.
  2. Account Management & Client Relationship Building:

    • Serve as the key point of contact for highvalue commercial clients ensuring that all needs are met and exceeded.
    • Develop and maintain longlasting relationships with key decisionmakers and stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with internal teams including sales marketing and operations to deliver tailored solutions to meet client needs.
    • Continuously assess client satisfaction and proactively resolve any issues or concerns to retain longterm partnerships.
  3. Revenue & Growth Focus:

    • Meet or exceed revenue and growth targets for new business acquisition and client retention.
    • Utilize datadriven insights and sales performance metrics to refine strategies and maximize commercial account growth.
    • Monitor financial performance budget adherence and profitability for commercial accounts.
  4. Leadership & Team Collaboration:

    • Lead mentor and guide a team of business development professionals to achieve individual and team sales goals.
    • Foster a collaborative highperformance culture within the business development team and across the company.
    • Work closely with the executive leadership team to align business development strategies with company goals and objectives.
  5. Market Expansion & Branding:

    • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities verticals and geographies for business expansion.
    • Represent the company at industry events conferences and trade shows to enhance visibility and brand presence.
    • Leverage industry knowledge and client feedback to contribute to product/service innovations and improvements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • 10 years of progressive experience in business development sales or account management with a proven track record in commercial sales and managing highvalue client relationships.
    • Previous experience in a leadership role managing a team of business development professionals.
    • Strong experience in negotiating complex deals contract management and closing highvalue business opportunities.
  • Skills:

    • Exceptional communication presentation and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong understanding of sales methodologies pipeline management and closing strategies.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to build and execute business development plans.
    • Excellent problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
    • Ability to work effectively across various departments including marketing operations and finance.
  • Education:

    • A bachelors degree in business marketing finance or a related field is required. An MBA or advanced businessrelated degree is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working in Industry or Vertical e.g. SaaS insurance financial services etc..
  • A strong network of commercial accounts and industry contacts.
  • Experience with CRM software and business intelligence tools.
