PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provides clerical services instructional support and assists with the daily operation of the campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Certification Requirements
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check
Special Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in typing word processing and file maintenance skills
- Effective organizational communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work well and in a positive manner with students employees and the public
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Pleasant voice on telephone personable attitude and appearance to public
- Ability to remain calm in a stressful situation and defuse confrontational situations
- Demonstrates a mature responsible attitude necessary for the position
- Ability to operate a multiline phone system
- Ability to meet established deadlines
- Knowledge of basic accounting principals
Experience:
- Minimum one 1 year clerical secretarial and/or data entry experience in an office setting
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Utilizes district programs to verify tabulate and record student information.
- Assist the campus administration teachers and/or staff in the preparation and management of instructional clerical and program support
- Receives telephone communications and telephone referrals routes to the appropriate staff and maintains an accurate log of each.
- Assist campus administration with use and/or maintenance of office equipment
- Perform noon duty during lunch and after school
- Assist with switchboard as needed
- Relieve other auxiliary staff when necessary
- Answer the telephone in a pleasant manner
- Dispense supplies to the staff distribute mail faxes and items from parent to students
- Substitute for classrooms that are lacking a teacher until relief arrives
- Assist with the printing and distribution of reports interim progress reports report cards including but not limited to: Add/Drop Attendance Check Sheets Class Rosters Special programs UIL Eligibility etc.
- Assist with registration and textbook distribution
- Acts as chaperone as necessary for college and career field trips
- Assist with the Coordinate TSI/SAT/ACT registration NCAA eligibility registration
- Assist the campus in providing transportation parking permit information to students staff and/or parents
- Supervise students as requested by campus administration
- Maintain an orderly office area
- Attend required inservice training sessions as well as individual training as determined by the principal
- Perform other duties as assigned based on department needs
- Must complete designated district technology proficiencies each year
- Requires a basic knowledge of technology/computer skills
- Ability to use personal computer to access district programs emails and other resources
- Maintain a consistent professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ensure compliance with the Texas Educators Code of Ethics
- Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervision and evaluation of District personnel is not a requirement of the position; however the supervision of students is required.
