Job Summary
McLean Hospital Americas top ranked freestanding psychiatric hospital is inviting applications for a postdoctoral fellowship on our Belmont MA campus. The postdoctoral position is available within the Treatment & Etiology of Depression in Youth Lab (https://WebbsLab) at McLean Hospital a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital directed by Christian A. Webb Ph.D. Our lab uses a multimodal approach (ecological momentary assessment passive smartphone sensor data EEG/fMRI and laboratorybased experiments) to investigate the causes and in particular the treatment of depression in adolescents.
The postdoctoral fellow will have the opportunity to work closely with Dr. Webb on NIH foundation and philanthropyfunded projects focused on smartphonedelivered interventions for depressive symptoms multimodal prediction of future depression risk and using smartphones and wearables to predict relevant symptom states in adolescents.
Salary and recruitment package in accordance with Hospital policies and a Harvard Medical School appointment as a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry will be contingent on meeting the requirements for an HMS appointment and candidate qualifications. The initial appointment will be for two years with the possibility of extension pending satisfactory performance and availability of funding. Submission of career development and other grant funding applications during the appointment is encouraged and will be supported.
The postdoctoral fellow will have full access to the diverse research financial and career development opportunities offered through both McLean Hospital and Harvard Medical School. The position will provide opportunities to pursue research and interdisciplinary collaborations across Harvard Medical School and the local Boston community. Successful applicants will have access to three researchdedicated human MRI scanners one animal MRI scanner two highdensity EEG systems our Institute for Technology in Psychiatry and will be able to take advantage of the outstanding educational clinical and researchrelated opportunities available at McLean and Harvard Medical School.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will possess a very strong background in coding (R Python and/or MATLAB) and statistics with relevant past research (expertise in functional/structural MRI techniques is encouraged but not required).
Excellent organizational skills oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as within an integrated research team.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and handle fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
A high degree of professionalism and attention to detail.
