Service Technician

We are currently recruiting for a Service Technician to join our Team based in Warrington the successful candidate will be responsible for the carrying out of planned preventative maintenance regimes as determined by the contract terms to on portfolio lift/escalator equipment and will be covering the Manchester area inwithin normal hours and the Greater Manchester region outside normal hours. They will beresponsible for completion of Schindler safety inspections and closure of any open nonconformity to current legislation or standards. They will also oversee improvement of equipment condition to improve the time between technical callbacks and reduce lift equipmentdowntime on key accounts . Works will also include minor repair work and the lifecycle replacement of components.The successful candidate must adhere to allcompany safety and conduct procedures and Provide coverage by an on call rota for out of hours calls maintenance and repairs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine servicing of lift/escalator equipment including minor repair work and the routine replacement ofcomponents and in accordance with approved company procedures (PPE PDA Expert etc)
  • To rectify and reduce faults on lift/escalator equipment in cases of breakdown and check to confirm correct functioning.
  • Check the lift/escalator function as part of maintenance checks to include speed motor start/stop weight noise
  • temperature and power supplies using approved company issued tooling and protective equipment
  • Carry out the routine inspection and adjustment of lift/escalator in accordance with approved procedures. Reinstate lift/escalator and complete service documentation
  • Carrying out more advanced fault finding and diagnostic procedures using a range of techniques technical manualsand appropriate test equipment restoring equipment to service. Competence is required to make effective use ofwritten or graphical information
  • Carry out site surveys and attend all relevant training sessions to keep up to date on technical knowledge and skills
  • Work in accordance with the Companys Safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current UK legal requirements and Schindler Group safety requirements as well as setting a personal
  • example of safe behaviour.
  • Contribute to the Company safety objectives where necessary by maintaining/monitoring current safety systems under their direct control and implementing agreed changes (where applicable) to its safetymanagement system.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience in Lift/Escalator Servicing/ Maintenance/ Repairs preferred
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 minimum in Lift/Escalator maintenance or equivalent
  • Willingness to Work towards Schindler Certification Level 3 Red
  • Advanced Electrical and Mechanical knowledge including MultiBrand equipment
  • Advanced problemsolving skills
  • The ability to work under pressure to deadlines and within efficiencies
  • The ability to work independently with a flexible approach
  • Good communication skills at different levels (Client/Service Leader/Inspectors)
  • Manual dexterity Requires the use of hands arms and feet for repetitive lifting; use of hands and arms to operatevarious hand and power tools and to record written information
  • Proven fault finding and diagnostic skills
  • Good administration skills and punctuality
  • Full UK driving License
