Job Description

The Ashburnham Westminster Regional School District is seeking a special education teacher for Overlook Middle School.RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop a therapeutic support system for students.Create facilitate communicate and maintain behavior plans and incentive plansResponsible for the provision of direct classroom small group and individual instruction including designing and delivering appropriate curriculum/programming according to students readiness interest learning profile IEP goals and the MA curriculum frameworks.Design a learning environment to support all students learning by facilitating various learning activities and integrating multiple opportunities for student feedback and collaboration with peers. Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and practices that are effective with diverse learners.Responsible for conducting formative assessments and ongoing summative assessments to measure student growth provide feedback and differentiate instruction. Responsible for supporting student use of tools resources and scaffolding to promote student development of learning strategies and executive functioning skills.Promote model develop and support positive behaviors and socialemotional development in all students.Responsible for supporting and facilitating opportunities for inclusion. Responsible for collaborating and consulting with related service providers educators school/gradelevel teams district teams and administrators.Responsible for collaborating with families having ongoing family contact and promoting family involvement.Responsible for serving as liaison for an assigned caseload chairing annual review team meetings as assigned writing Individualized Education Programs and progress notes.
